First Oman energy and water forum sees 70 local and international firms


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The first Oman Energy and Water Exhibition and Conference opened on Tuesday under the auspices of Dr Rasheed bin al Safi al Huraibi chairman of the Tender Board.

The three-day event underway at the Oman International Exhibition Centre is being held as part of the sultanate's efforts to provide 24x7 power supply to meet the needs of various infrastructure projects.

As many as 70 local and international power and water companies from Oman Austria Bahrain Belgium Jordan Iran Italy and UAE are showcasing the latest products and services at the event. Mohamed bin Abdullah al Mahrouqi chairman of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water welcomed the delegates comprising government officials executives of power and water companies members of the diplomatic corps and Sabco Group executives.

Several top-level local and international speakers will speak on Oman's Master Plan 2040 for the power and water sectors over the next two days. Speakers will also discuss national energy strategy.
