DEWA completes cascading its Strategy 2021

(MENAFNEditorial) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has today (Tuesday, 19 May 2015) organised a specialised workshop at Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai, attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and DEWA's management. The team completed cascading DEWA's Strategy 2021 with the divisional sub-strategies. These integrate together to achieve the approved strategic objectives.

"The UAE is celebrating the Golden Jubilee year of its Union in 2021, marking 50 years of achievements that have drawn the world's attention. This would not been possible without the directives of our wise leadership represented by HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the Members of the Supreme Council and their faith in the spirit of the Union," said Al Tayer.

"DEWA2021 aims to promote and contribute to the UAE's strategic plans for the nation, and to achieve the goals of the national agenda of the UAE Vision 2021, especially the pillars of a Sustainable Environment and Infrastructure, Competitive Knowledge Economy, and a Cohesive Society and Preserved Identity It also complements the Dubai Plan 2021 launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, in December last year. DEWA contributes directly in all six pillars that have been adopted by the Plan, and continues its efforts to achieve the objectives of the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030," he added.

"HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced 2015 as the Year of Innovation, and the DEWA2021 is part of the leadership's vision to achieve the goals by focusing on innovation. We have included innovation as part of our strategic vision and have customised an integrated approach to achieve the objectives of the strategy in the field of innovation, which also fits with the Dubai Innovation Strategy," added Al Tayer.

"We can achieve our strategy by implementing initiatives and projects that will bring us closer to our goals by 2021. This requires that we continue to review the progress and results, of these initiatives and projects on a regular basis. We must identify the constraints and the opportunities for improvement and address them effectively to achieve our strategic vision.

I look forward today to review with you our future plans to support the achievement of the DEWA Strategy 2021 under the umbrella of the six pillars that were adopted during its launch in our previous workshop. Providing the mechanisms and systems for excellence in government constitutes the effective framework to facilitate the achievement of institutional goals. To ensure the quality for all our projects and services, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched the 4th generation system of excellence to promote government action," noted Al Tayer.

"Year on year, DEWA is steadily achieving excellence in strategic planning and meeting and exceeding stakeholder aspirations. DEWA's Strategy 2021 sets a clear road map for us to achieve our vision to become a sustainable, innovative world-class utility. DEWA's leadership team and the different work teams will work to implement the set projects and reach their targets by monitoring more than 500 key and sub performance indicators across all organisational levels at DEWA," said Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at DEWA.
