OIC 42nd foreign ministers' session to be held in Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) announced here on Tuesday holding the 42nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Kuwait on May 27-28 under the theme "Joint Vision in Promoting Tolerance and Reject Terrorism".

The two-day ministerial meeting will discuss critical and important developments in the region, mainly the situation in Palestine, Syria, Yemen and Libya.

It will also tackle the deteriorating circumstances of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, while OIC ministerial contact team is expected to hold a meeting on the sidelines of the session, to discuss the latest developments in Myanmar, besides the peace process in Mali, and supporting reconstruction operations in Somalia.

The current session's agenda will also include a special meeting to set the appropriate and vital strategy to encounter terrorism, radicalism and Islamophobia.

The ministers will also approve a number of decisions in the economic, social, cultural, humanitarian, scientific and technological fields, besides discussing conflicts in the Muslim world, and defamation of religions.
