Saudi King lauds outcome of Yemen Conf.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz praised Tuesday participants in Yemen Conference for the successful outcome which reflected, to the world, unity and determination by the Yemeni people for the future of their country.

The king's remarks came in a speech delivered on his behalf by GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdulateef Al-Zayani at the conclusion of the conference.

The Saudi leader affirmed firm response of Kingdom and coalition countries to calls by the Yemeni legitimate President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi for saving his country and protecting the people, on basis of self-defense and the protection of Yemeni interests that are assured by the GCC initiative and mechanism to implement it.

He voiced support of the outcome of the comprehensive national dialogue, which was supported by UN Security Council resolution 2216.

King Salman said Operation Restoration of Hope aimed at bringing Yemeni people together and achieve stability in preparation for the country's development, including the kingdom keenness to continue support of Yemeni living illegally inside Saudi Arabia.

King Salman also affirmed on his country's continuous efforts in providing humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people, as well as helping them to return to their homes.

Earlier, the Riyadh Conference on "Saving Yemen and Building Federal State" concluded activities in the Saudi capital reaffirming utter support to legitimacy in the country, represented by President Hadi, besides building a federal state.
