Germany, France calls for full execution of Minsk deals

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande Tuesday called for full execution of Minsk agreement regarding settlement of conflict in East Ukraine.

Merkel, at a joint news conference with Hollande, called for doubling efforts to execute last February Minsk agreement between Ukrainian government and Russia-based separatists.

She said there were minor progresses in the resolution of the conflict in east Ukraine.

Hollande said the Minsk agreements, signed in the Belarussian capital, should be executed as quick as possible.

Head of state and government of Russia, Germany, Ukraine and France concluded the 12-article Minsk agreement, aimed at ceasing fire in east Ukraine between the Ukrainian forces and separatists.

Merkel and Hollande were holding talks regarding preparations for the UN Climate Summit, due in Paris end of this year.

The two leaders, meanwhile, said spying of the US and German intelligence on the French government did not cause harm to the French-German relations.

Hollande said Paris has full confidence that relevant German authorities would unveil details of accusations that the German intelligence helped its American counterpart to eavesdrop on French and European bodies.

The German intelligence is accused of eavesdropping for the American NSA on European governments and companies.

Merkel praised cooperation among intelligent agencies of allies.
