JAKARTA May 19 2015—The Indonesian Ministry of Industry allowed PT Nissan Motor Indonesia to raise the ceiling price of low cost green car Datsun Go+ & Go by approximately 6.7% from the original price of IDR82 million to IDR100 million.
Director of Land Transport Equipment for the Ministry of Industry Soerjono said in early May PT Nissan Motor Indonesia (NMI) which in charge of Datsun Indonesia has sent a letter proposing to increase prices since there was an increase in inflation and other macroeconomic pressures.
Moreover the products have fulfilled the age of the market for a year. "The requirements are met and we have been considering. I already signed the price ceiling increase " Soerjono told Indonesia Business Daily Sunday (5/10/2015).
In accordance with article 2 paragraph 1 letter e of the Minister of Industry Decree No.33/2013 on energy-efficient vehicles at reasonable prices the highest price shall be only IDR95 million with conditions are maximum cylinder capacity of 1200cc with the RON92 fuel consumption rate of 20 kilometer per liter.
The price ceiling is the amount of the selling price to consumers outside of additional features. To LCGC equipped with automatic transmission there is a maximum of 15% additional price from IDR95 million and 10% more for safety features.
The price ceiling increase set in Article 2 paragraph 6 and article 3 of the same regulation. Its provisions apply only to products which have passed one year of marketing as well as through consideration particularly the rate of inflation.
"The signed letter was sent again to the Datsun Indonesia" Soerjono said.
Head of Datsun Indonesia Indri Hadiwidjaja admitted his company has proposed a ceiling increase for Datsun LCGC. According to him Datsun Indonesia has fulfilled the age for LCGC product market so it can be used to apply for price increase. Read more..
