Saudi King lauds outcomes of Camp David meeting


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has commended the positive outcomes of the Camp David meeting in the United States last week.

After presiding over a Cabinet meeting on Monday, King Salman expressed in a statement his appreciation and thanks to the leaders and heads of delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and US President Barack Obama for the meeting that led to these results.

The King also voiced the joint commitment to a strategic partnership between the United States and the GCC member states to build closer relations in all fields, including cooperation in defense and security fields, the statement said.

The two sides also underlined their keenness on consolidating the bilateral relations pertaining to different issues in order to build a strategy aims to promote regional stability and prosperity, it noted.

The King briefed the Cabinet on the phone call with Obama during which they affirmed deep, strategic and historical relations between the two friendly countries and their keenness on strengthening them in all fields.

The GCC leaders and heads of delegations held talks with Obama during their meeting on May 13-14 in Camp David on strengthening cooperation in many fields and promoting regional peace and stability.
