Arab League chief voices concern over ISIL's control of most of Ramadi

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby Monday voiced concerns over ISIL's reported capture of many parts of the Iraqi city of Ramadi, the capital of Al-Anbar Governorate.

The Islamic State in Iraq and Levant's militants have controlled the government building and other facilities in Ramadi over the past two days, against the retreat of the Iraqi forces from the city.

The Arab League is fully behind "Iraq against ISIL and other extremist terrorist groups," said Al-Araby in a statement.

He called on the international community to coordinate with the Iraqi government to eliminate ISIL, which was threatening the security and stability of the region and entire world.
