Saudi FM: coalition committed to truce only if other side respects it

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir stressed Monday that the commitment of the coalition countries to the provisions of the truce depends on the other party's respect to it.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Jubeir said that "the coalition will respond forcibly with all the required might and determination once the Houthis violations persist, the humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people prevented, or the military aggressive moves of Houthi militia and the forces loyal to them continued." The minister confirmed their commitment to humanitarian truce in Yemen based on their desire to help the brotherly Yemeni people and alleviate their human suffering, stressing that the coalition has exerted strenuous effort to deliver aid in a record time by air and sea and show cooperation with all international relief organizations.

The Minister of Foreign expressed deep regret of the coalition countries for the lack of achieving the goals set for the truce from the beginning, attributing the failure to the Houthis and their allies' seizure of foodstuff, medicines and fuel, and preventing these items from reaching their final destination.

Coalition countries consider the non-stop military movement of Houthis inside the Yemeni territories and along the border with Saudi Arabia, yet another grave violation of the truce since its first day until today, Al-Jubeir said, citing as many as 39 hostile actions on Jazan region, 35 breaches attacks on Najran region, in addition to missile launchers moving along the Saudi border to threaten the Kingdom's territories and other cities opposite to the border.

The minister pointed out that the violations of Houthi militias and their supporters extended to include the continuation of their military operations and the redeployment of their forces and attacks on the provinces and cities of Yemen, including Taiz and Dhali as well as the complete occupation of the village of Lauder, where life in it is now diving to a tragic humanitarian bottom as a result of Houthi violation of the privacy and sanctity of homes, bombing of houses of Yemeni citizens and occupying them.
