Al Rayyan to train in Netherlands in August


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Al Rayyan Sports Club officials chaired by HE Sheikh Saoud bin Khalid al-Thani has decided in the meeting yesterday that the football team will have a training camp in Netherlands.

The camp will be held in August for three weeks, during which the team will play a number of friendly games. They will also do technical and physical drills in order to prepare the players for the new season, with Al-Rayyan having returned to Qatar Stars League after winning the first division title comprehensively this year.

Al Rayyan was knocked out of ongoing HH the Emir Cup competition after losing to El Jaish by 1-5 in the one-sided quarterfinals last week.

In the meantime, Al Rayyan has qualified to the

semifinal round of the GCC Club Championship and the team has already played the first leg against Al-Seeb in Muscat, Oman which ended in a goalless draw.

The team will play the second leg on the May 19th in Doha, and if Al Rayyan wins, the team will play the final in Doha on the May 27th.
