Nahyan receives Lebanese economic delegation


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, has praised the fraternal relations between the peoples of the UAE and Lebanon.

He also underscored that the ties between the two countries are permanent and unchangeable.

Sheikh Nahyan referred to the role played by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in sustaining those ties, stressing that the relations continued unabated, thanks to the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He made the remarks while meeting with the visiting Lebanese economic delegation, led by Mohamed Choucair, Chairman of the Lebanon's Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture in Lebanon (FCCIAL).

Sheikh Nahyan said the Lebanese-Emirati ties are based on a genuine desire to strengthen them, adding that the UAE welcomes the Lebanese people who contributed towards building the UAE's infrastructure as well as implementation of economic, trade, educational and cultural projects in the country. He also wished the Lebanese people good luck, welfare and progress.

On his part, Choucair said he carried a message of love, thanks and appreciation to the UAE, stressing that tens of thousands of Lebanese who are living and working in the country, have been receiving all kinds of benefits during peace and war times that Lebanon had witnessed.

In a related context, Sufyan Al Saleh, Chairman of Lebanese Business Council in Abu Dhabi, told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the visit aims to enhance trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Sheikh Nahyan hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the Lebanese economic delegation.
