(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dr. Abdul Rahim Yousef Al Awadi, Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs, today received the EU Ambassador to the UAE, Carlo De Filippi, at his office.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest as well as ways to enhance the bilateral relations to the benefit of the joint interest, especially in the legal field. Al Awadi hailed the UAE-EU strategic and outstanding relations at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
He also emphasised the UAE's desire to enhance ties while, at the same time, highlighting the outstanding success achieved by the Emirati diplomacy which was represented in exempting the UAE citizens from Schengen visa. He added that it reflects the world's respect, appreciation and love for the people of the UAE, whose presence in every country represents a role model in the field of respecting other countries' laws and procedures.
He also welcomed the 4th Session of the UAE-EU Dialogue on Human Rights, which will be held on Tuesday. The dialogue comes in the light of the joint mechanisms that have been adopted by the UAE and the EU.
On his part, the EU official praised the existing strategic partnership with the UAE, welcoming the joint efforts for more achievements. He also stressed that the ties are witnessing a growing development in all domains.
At the end of the meeting, Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs underscored the importance of expanding joint cooperation based on the bilateral and multilateral relations as well as leveraging them on to better levels and wider horizons to strengthen them in various fields.
