Qatari Court ordered contractor to pay fine for delayed delivery

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Primary Court has ordered a contractor to pay a fine of QR80,000 for delayed delivery of the contract works undertaken at a Majlis (lounge) and non-compliance to non-standards, Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.

The case goes back when a Qatari man entrusted a contracting company to build a Majlis for him within six months. They both agreed on a penalty for delayed delivery of QR500 for each day of delay. However, the company failed to abide by its obligations. The court eventually appointed an expert to assess the building and file a report, and based on the report issued its ruling.
