(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) has distributed iPads to 30 inspectors at the Technical Inspection Department of Doha Municipality to implement electronic inspection system on labour accommodations.
Through the e-system, an inspector files a violation report with information about the owner of the violating building and the tenant and sends both of them SMS with notice to evacuate the building and that a violation against them has been registered. The system also covers violations of building, demolition and excavation works.
Mohamed Ahmed al-Sayed, director, Doha Municipality, hoped the new system would be applicable to more departments of municipal control soon.
\Other senior municipal officials stressed that the new system will ease the inspection process and speed up the handling of any potential violations in a smooth manner.
