Washington D.C to host first infidelity speaks awareness day

Statistics indicate that one or both spouses admit to infidelity in 41 percent of marriages.

Washington D.C. – (May 18 2015) – For many individuals infidelity is a way of life.  Wear yellow on May 30th to help raise awareness of the emotional and psychological effects of infidelity on individuals children families and communities and to offer support to those who might suffer in silence as a result.

Following a separation reconciliation counseling and an ultimate divorce Christina Ferguson is committed to using her life-changing experiences to help others who might suffer in silence as a result of infidelity.  A yellow ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on May 30 2015 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library to launch the First Infidelity Speaks Awareness Day. The event is free and open to the public and will be hosted under the theme “Opening the Door...Behind the Scenes of Infidelity.”  Individuals are asked to show support by wearing yellow on May 30th attending the event spreading the word on social media or calling a friend that has experienced infidelity.  Show support.  Bring support.  Be support.  Find support

Infidelity Facts:

A significant amount of domestic violence stems either directly or indirectly from infidelity suspected infidelity or accusations of infidelity.
Unresolved shame and grief of affected individuals who suffer in silence might lead to hopelessness depression or other mental health issues including anxiety disorders and substance abuse.
The emotional damage is reflected in what some mental health professionals call Post-Infidelity Stress Disorder (PISD) for the stress and emotional turmoil experienced after learning of a partner's infidelity.

Mission of Infidelity SPeaKS:  A social change movement to eradicate normalizing and promoting infidelity as an acceptable and notable behavior by bringing awareness to the emotional and psychological consequences experienced by individuals children families and communities.  To offer encouragement and support to those who might suffer in silence as they rebuild their lives and relationships.
