S. Korea's airlines to replace all aged fleet

(MENAFN) Transportation ministry said that South Korean airlines have willingly pledged to replace their old aircraft as part of a plan to boost passenger safety, QNA reported.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the country's 8 air carriers signed an agreement, in which they agreed to replace all their aircraft that are 20 years old or older.

The move comes despite the fact that there currently is no limit on the age of an aircraft, the ministry noted. It said there also is no such thing as a lifespan for aircraft as aircraft are repaired and maintained on a daily basis.
