Real estate transactions in Oman touch RO1.6bn


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Real estate transactions in the sultanate touched RO1.63bn at the end of April 2015 a growth of 68 per cent compared to the same period last year.

According to a bulletin released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) the fees collected from these transactions stood at RO16.1mn a growth of 12.6 per cent. The value of sale contracts came down to RO391.7mn a fall of 0.9 per cent.

The number of sale transactions came down to 28543 compared to 30093 in the same period last year a decline of 5.2 per cent.

The value of mortgage contracts registered a huge jump of 115 per cent to touch RO1.241bn compared to RO577.3mn during the same period of 2014. The number of such transactions rose by 7.6 per cent to reach 7452 compared to 6928 in the same period of 2014.

The value of transfer agreements till the end of April 2015 was RO6.1mn compared to RO2.1mn in 2014 a rise of 190.5 per cent. 'The number of these contracts increased by 7.6 per cent to reach 469 compared to 436 in 2014.'

A total of 85346 title deeds were issued till the end of April 2015 compared to 81168 in 2014 a rise of 5.1 per cent.
