Saudi- Program aims to prepare new Haia men for fieldwork


(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: The president of the Commission of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (Haia) Abdul Rahman
Al-Sanad said the general presidency wishes to enrol its new employees in a one-year diploma program before they begin field work.

The diploma will be conducted in partnership with Umm Al-Qura University.
He said the program aims to train new field officers to practice promoting virtue and preventing vice in the field after providing them with a course on Shariah sciences and practical and theoretical training needed for the work. The diploma program will also provide field officers with information and skills as well as studies of the rules regulations and instructions related to fieldwork.
He confirmed that this diploma will be a basic requirement to practice field work and pointed out that there are 260 new members in the first batch in the program.
Al-Sanad said the general presidency considers planning and development as the focal point of the coming stage and aims to rise with the level of employees' performance as the skills and knowledge they learn will be reflected in their fieldwork. He appreciated the care the Haia receives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Jarbaa undersecretary at the commission said the launch of this diploma program came from directives of the general president. It is a move that shows careful methodology which is concerned with the academic training required for fieldwork. It's a basic process in the development of fieldwork which will yield positive results.
Al-Jarbaa said the training provides new members with investigation skills psychological counseling rules and regulations communication skills planning and organizing work and calculating field vices.
He added that the curriculum takes two study semesters and its subjects include Qur'an jurisprudence Qur'an sciences Shariah politics regulations Arabic language interpretation of the Qur'an Hadith psychological counseling public relations and the methodology of Shariah sciences.
