(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The UAE will chair the 46th ordinary session of the League of Arab States' Council of Information Ministers which will be held Thursday here at the headquarters of the pan-Arab organisation to discuss a17-item agenda on various issues of Arab media and strategic visions for developing the industry and Arab common action in the field of media.
In a statement, the League of Arab States said that the ministers will discuss a new plan for Arab media activities in non-Arab countries, a pan-Arab media strategy, the Palestinian issue, the role of Arab media in countering terrorism.
The agenda also includes the designation of an " Arab Media Day " to recognise the role of media people and organisations in addressing the challenges facing the industry.
The Cairo meeting will also discuss the amendment of the charter of the Council of Arab Information Ministers and the re-instating the Arab Permanent Committee on Media.
