Cochin chamber to partner mentorship programme to support MSME

(MENAFN- KNN India) With an aim to support rural enterprises, MSMEs, and start-ups seeking support for business development, the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry will partner with the Mentor on Road programme.

The Chamber President, CS Kartha, said the trade body is planning to create a mentor pool drawn from its members, and also to associate with Startup Village by providing them with mentorship services. The pool will consist of industry veterans, senior managers of member companies, and chamber promoters.

The registered start-ups can use this pool and link to an available mentor with hands-on experience in their respective industry. It was revealed that a majority of start-ups need mentors and not money for their overall development, he said.

The Kochi Startup Village, has been successful in generating 533 new start-ups that command a market valuation of Rs 292 crore. As many as 116 of the registered firms are campus start-ups, and the model was able to create more than 2,500 jobs last year, added Kartha.

The Chamber will organise the Mentor on Road programme at Startup Village on May 19 offering companies solutions for their pain points in the areas of finance, marketing, production, HR, IPR, and innovations. (KNN Bureau)
