Drone Strike Kills Six Militants in North Waziristan

(MENAFN- QNA) A US-drone strike has killed six foreign and local militants in Pakistan's troubled tribal area of North Waziristan.
The drone reportedly fired two missiles at a compound belonging to militants in Shawal area of North Waziristan late Saturday afternoon, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
Most of those killed in the attack are reported to be foreigners.
Waziristan is allegedly the home for several militant groups including Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – the primary militant organization fighting with the government of Pakistan, Al-Qaeda, Uzbek and other insurgent groups.
Based on the reports published in Pakistani media, these militant groups have lost several key commanders in the air strikes carried out by drone. Several others among more than 2,000 insurgents have been in Pakistani military operation Zarb-i-Azb started in June 2014.
