Lebanon's Hezbollah mourns death of 4 fighters in Syria

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Lebanon's Hezbollah on Friday held funerals in the southern Lebanese cities of Tyre and Bint Jbeil for four of its fighters killed in recent clashes in Syria's southern Qalamoun region.

The four Hezbollah fighters, a security source told Anadolu Agency, "were killed in Syria by militants during clashes that took place recently in Qalamoun."

Funeral processions for each of the slain fighters were held separately in their respective hometowns, all of which saw wide participation by local residents, lawmakers and Hezbollah leaders.

Qalamoun is close to the Lebanese border.

For over two years, Hezbollah has been openly engaged in the Syrian conflict, fighting alongside the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
