(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi received Friday visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
In a press statement, the Italian Presidency said that President Mattarella held talks with President Abbas Friday. It added that the President hosted a luncheon in honor of President Abbas and his accompanying delegation.
In a brief statement, the Italian Cabinet said that Premier Renzi met the Palestinian President.
The statement, however, did not elaborate about the issues discussed during the meeting.
President Abbas will visit the Vatican Saturday to hold talks with Pope Francis and attend the ceremony of signing the comprehensive agreement between the Vatican and the State of Palestine.
