QU College of Arts and Sciences launches two Master's programmes

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatar University's College of Arts and Sciences (QU-CAS) recently launched two Master's programmes in Public Health and Applied Statistics, beginning Fall 2015.

The two programmes are the first of their kind in Qatar and were designed to produce highly specialised and competent graduates in order to join the professional sectors within Qatar and beyond, in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the national development strategies.

The MSc in Applied Statistics is hosted by the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics, and will enable graduates to provide professional statistical training and consulting services within various academic and professional sectors in the local and regional workplace. The programme requires 30 credits, and offers two options: a thesis (academic option) or a project (professional option).

The MSc in Public Health (MPH) targets health professionals and new graduates of health-related programmes such as medicine, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, nutrition and public health. It requires 42 credits, and offers two concentrations in epidemiology or in health systems improvement.
