(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The fifth and final stage of the programme for qualifying commercial arbitrators (2015) for professional certification will start at the Qatar Chamber (QC) headquarters today.

The programme, jointly organised by the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre and Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration, will continue until Wednesday. The first stage of the programme was launched in January.

A number of lawyers, legal consultants and commercial arbitrators have been taking part is the programme as commercial arbitration assumes greater significance in resolving disputes that may arise between different companies in the country, especially with many international firms undertaking major development projects in various areas.

The programme aims to spread the culture of arbitration in Qatar and to create a new generation of highly qualified arbitrators.
