Katara to host Arabic literary festival from tomorrow


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Katara - the Cultural Village's Arabic Novel Festival will begin tomorrow. The festival, which runs until May 21, will feature a variety of events and forums aimed at enhancing the Arab literary scene. It will also host a number of guests and participants from Qatar and abroad.

On May 20, a grand celebration will be held to distribute prizes for the first round of Katara's Arabic Novel Competition.

On the sidelines of the festival, the Katara Centre for Arabic Novel will be launched alongside an exhibition on Arabic novel history. Also on cards during the festival are an exhibition for Qatari novelists and Arabic novel forums. In addition, there will be screenings of films based on the works of great Arabic novelists and dramatists.

Other highlights include the issue of a postal stamp on the award, a theatrical show and the launch of an electronic guide of Arab novelists and writers.
