Camp David Summit Yields Fruitful Results: Kuwaiti FM Says


(MENAFN- QNA) Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah affirmed that the Camp David summit yielded fruitful results and discussed ways to restore security and stability in the region.

In a press statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Sheikh Sabah described the GCC-US relations as close ties based on strategic partnership and cooperation.

He said the two-day Camp David summit concluded last night, brought positive and fruitful results, saying the two parties discussed frankly the most important regional issues and ways of finding peaceful solutions to them and strengthening security and stability in the region.

Adding that the GCC leaders discussed with US President Barack Obama regional issues in Yemen, Iraq Syria and Libya and ways to support the Middle East peace process in addition to the strategic partnership and GCC-US security and military cooperation .

Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister said that the summit focused on ways to enhance the role of the GCC countries in the U.S.-led international coalition formed to comfort Daesh group and ways of dealing with the terrorism phenomenon and cutting off its financing and rejecting of its thought.

The US President reaffirmed his country's commitment to security and stability in the region , its growth and prosperity, he said ,adding that the US is a power in the world and a member of the UN Security Council .

While saying we are taking advantage of the exchange of views and discussing on deepening partnership with it.
