Israelis Issue Tenders For 85 West Bank Settler Homes

(MENAFN- QNA) Israel's Ministry of Construction has reissued tenders to build 85 housing units in the Givat Zeev settlement and 1,500 hotel rooms, a settlement watchdog said Thursday.

The settlement is located south of the West Bank city of Ramallah.

The construction minister said tenders issued last year received no bids from contractors so were issued again.

The plot for the other bid to build hotel is located west of Mount Scopus.

Condemning the Israelis for issuing tenders to build settlements, Chairman of the Jerusalem Affairs Department in the PLO Ahmed Qurei said, "The consequences of these projects threaten peace process talks and undermined the two-state solution. These settlement projects violate all international laws and conventions." This move is part of the ethnic cleansing and Judaization plan to displace Palestinians from their Holy City, he added.
