UK's Old Mutual posts USD11.5b gross sales in Q1

(MENAFN) Old Mutual Plc, the insurer firm headquartered in London, recorded USD11.5 billion gross sales in the first quarter of the year, marking gains by 18 percent, Bloomberg reported.

The company attributes its surging sales to the increased income from its African business, which witnessed a 30 percent increase. Furthermore, sales from emerging markets witnessed a 20 percent rise.

"This has been a very good start to the year, with all of our businesses performing well with continued strategic progress," Old Mutual's Chief Executive Officer said in a statement.
