U.S envoy visits northern border crossing


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) U.S. Ambassador to Jordan Alice G. Wells, on Wednesday, visited Ramtha border crossing north of the Kingdom was briefed by the commander of the border guards on their tasks and duties, especially the humanitarian effort they exert.

The commander said the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army, ever since the start of the Syrian crisis, has been exerted enormous efforts to provide better services for Syrian refugees, noting that the Jordanian armed forces' task is to secure the entry of Syrian refugees, besides providing them with food, water and medical services and taking them to shelters, which put additional burdens on the Kingdom's budget.

The U.S. mabsaddor voiced admiration for the noble role of Jordan and its armed forces for receiving refugees along the border with Syria.
