Telecom Egypt logs USD79.16m net profit in Q1


(MENAFN) Telecom Egypt recorded a net profit of USD79.16 million in the first quarter of the year, marking an increase by 9.9 percent year-on-year due to sturdy retail growth, Reuters reported.

The company which dominates the landline and is 80 percent owned by the government additionally posted a revenue of USD362.7million, marking an increase from USD336.45 million a year ago.

"We are (projecting) that we'll be able to grow this customer base," the Chief Executive of Telecom Egypt said in a statement.
