China's Tencent revenue up to USD3.65b in Q1


(MENAFN) Internet giant Tencent announced posting revenue of USD3.65 billion in the first-quarter period, marking an increase of 22 percent from a year earlier, Xinhua reported.

Net profit during the cited period reached USD1.13 billion, up 8 percent on-year. Value-added services, which stood at USD3.04 billion, contributed USD2.17 billion to the total income.

Meanwhile, online advertising surged by 131 percent to reach USD441.73 billion in the first three months of the year, thanks to mobile social networking services and video ads.

Chair and CEO of Tencent said the company will work with more partners to implement the government's "Internet Plus" plan, which proposes to use the Internet to connect more people with services.
