Oman and Qatar to boost golf relations


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Mundhir al Barwani the chairman of the Oman Golf Committee (OGC) held talks with Mohammed Faisal al Naimi the executive director of the Qatar Golf Federation and the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation's executive committee member on Monday. The officials discussed the possibilities of bilateral tournaments and junior exchange programmes.

'We are considering mini tournaments for our junior teams in Oman as well as in Qatar. It will help our junior players in getting more exposure' said Barwani.

The Qatari official visited the golfing facilities in the sultanate. He praised the efforts that are being taken to develop junior golfers in Oman and he was particularly impressed with the women's programme. 'Oman is playing a key role in developing golf in the region' Naimi said.

Ahmed al Jhdhamy the OGC's vice-chairman was also present at the meeting.
