(MENAFN- Arab Times) A draft law on cyber crimes has been prepared with its 18 articles supporting imprisonment and fines against violators, reports Al-Anba daily. Sources said the most severe penalty is stated in Article 11 which imposes a maximum of 10 years imprisonment and KD 50,000 or bare minimum KD 20,000 against any person proven to be involved in establishing website for a terrorist organization or a terrorist or even using fake names.
In another development, ministerial sources said the Cabinet in its recent session headed by HH Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak approved many decrees among them a decree forming the board of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation headed by the Minister of Oil, with Nizar Al- Adsani as his deputy-alongside his present post as CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
They said the Cabinet also approved the recruitment of four new top officials in the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition; in addition, it did not renew the appointment of 19 top officials in various state authorities.
In the same context, the State Minister for Housing Affairs Yassir Abul terminated the contracts of 81 top officials of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) including 20 directors, consultants, supervisors and engineers, reports Al- Jarida daily. Sources added the decision aims to stop the financial privileges top officials receive for signing private contracts, indicating each of them receives at least KD 1,000 over their monthly salary, which costs the general budget KD 250,000 monthly or KD 3 million per annum.
