Jordan, Canada discuss cooperation in scientific research and innovation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Secretary General of the Jordan Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, Saleh Al Kharabsheh and the Canadian Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of the province of Ontario, Reza Moridi, Wednesday discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation, mainly in higher education and in the scientific research sector.

During the meeting, Al Kharabsheh thanked Canada for its support to the Jordan and the assistance it provides to accomplish development programs and to mitigate economic hardships, particularly in the areas of education, employment, empowerment of women in society, in addition to the promotion of renewable energy and domestic energy and many another areas.

Al Kharabsheh also reviewed the Kingdom's developmental priorities, particularly in the framework of the "Jordan 2025" vision which was launched recently, in addition to the effects of the Syrian crisis on various sectors, calling for an increase in the assistance to Jordan in this regard.

The Canadian minister said that Ontario province enjoys the presence of the most educated population in the world and includes about 20 universities and 24 colleges, noting that his visit to Jordan aims to boost further cooperation in the field of education, scientific research and innovation, as well as cooperation in training and vocational education.
