Egypt eyes USD30b coal investments by 2020


(MENAFN) Egypt's coal industry is set to yield investments worth USD30 billion by the year of 2020, according to statements from the Ministry of Investments, Amwal Alghad reported.

The prospect investments will significantly promote the improvement and development of the Egyptian energy system, the Minister of Investments said in a conference.

The Minister added that Egypt hopes to add 30.000 megawatt of energy by the year of 2025, 8.000 megawatt of which are set to be generated from coal and another 8.000 megawatt from renewable energy.
