Red River Resources (ASX:RVR) has commenced drilling at the Thalanga East Hanging Wall target at the Thalanga Zinc Project in Queensland.

The target zone is anticipated to be intersected within 12 days notwithstanding any drilling difficulties or inclement weather.

The Thalanga East Hanging Wall target was identified by a recent Induced Polarisation survey which identified a large zone of strong chargeability with a central core of moderate conductivity under 10 to 20 metres of cover.

The location of the IP anomaly is coincident with a historical surface geochemical anomaly.

The broader project contains the Thalanga volcanic hosted massive sulphide deposit which is the largest known body of pyritic copper-lead-zinc-silver mineralisation within the Mt Windsor Volcanics.

The Thalanga Project currently hosts a JORC compliant Mineral Resource of 2289kt grading 1.2% copper 2.3% lead 6.9% zinc 0.2g/t gold and 53g/t silver at the West 45 Thalanga Far West and Orient deposits.
