3 caught in SR190000 theft at Panda outlet
(MENAFN- Arab News) Three men were arrested in Riyadh for carrying out an armed robbery at a Panda outlet in the south of Riyadh Riyadh police announced Tuesday.
According to the police two masked men wearing sports suits threatened a 19-year-old cashier at the Panda in Fawaz district and took SR190000 from the cash counter at gunpoint in the presence of a 54-year-old security guard who was helpless against the machine gun the thieves brandished.
The robbery took place at 3 a.m. one day last week. Police did not reveal the nationality of the robbers.
Following a complaint made at the Dirab police station police caught the two men and another suspect who had formed a gang to carry out the robbery.
Police are conducting further investigations to ascertain whether the gang was involved in previous robberies.
Police suspect the robbery could have taken place with the help of a Panda insider.
Police recovered the cash as well as the unlicensed machine gun purported to have been used by the robbers. The suspects have confessed to the crime.
