Obama, Saudi King discuss Camp David summit preparations


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) United States President Barack Obama spoke with Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Monday evening about the preparations for the summit with Gulf leaders at Camp David next Thursday, the White House announced.

During the phone conversation, both leaders emphasized the strength of the two countries' partnership and agreed to continue their close consultations on a wide range of regional and international issues.

US Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said in a press statement that the summit will focus on ways to strengthen security ties between the United States and the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members, especially in the areas of counter-terrorism, maritime security, and security-mail and in assessing the possibility of setting up a missile defense system common to the GCC members.
