Conference on Information Technology kicks off at Al Zaytoonah University


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The 7th International Conference on Information Technology, ICIT 2015, kicked off on Tuesday at Al Zaytoonah University.

Minister of Information and Communications Technology Majd Shweikeh stressed the importance of benefiting from information technology and using it as the main tool for scientific development.

The minister added in his opening remarks that knowledge has been shared across the world thanks to information and communications technology, adding that what was considered science fiction in the last century has now become a reality.

She stressed the importance of spreading an understanding of culture, encouraging innovation, supporting business incubators in universities and companies, exchanging expertise, and enhancing partnerships between the public and private sectors.

President of the university Rushdi Hassan highlighted the role of His Majesty King Abdullah II in achieving a qualitative leap in the IT sector's development that enhanced comprehensive development across Jordan.

The three-day conference is a forum for scientists and engineers to present their latest research results, ideas, implemented developments, and applications in all areas of information technology. ICIT 2015 will include presentations of contributed papers and lectures by authoritative keynote speakers.
