(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Expert at US space agency NASA Nagin Cox has stressed the importance of investing in scientific development and research and benefiting from the capacity of the youth to create innovative solutions to address problems facing communities.
In an interview with Petra on the sidelines of her recent visit to Jordan and her meetings with a number of students at universities and youth centers, Cox said that many countries with emerging economies have prioritized social, educational and health needs, but they need to also enhance their scientific research and development because of the important role it plays in improving the economy and the level of services provided.
The expert said that students should be trained to work with a united team spirit to address challenges and achieve development rather than focusing on individual work.
During her visit to Jordan, Cox met with officials and students from a number of universities, youth centers, and schools to highlight the need to enhance the role of science in achieving social and economic development.
