(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Egyptian Prime Minister, Ibrahim Mahlab, attended the signing of a protocol of the Egyptian government's receipt of over 50,000 housing units for social housing as part of the UAE's development projects in Egypt.

The protocol was signed by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and Chairman of the Coordinating Bureau of the UAE development projects in Egypt, and Mustafa Madbouli, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.

The project will see the creation of more than 50,000 apartments in 36 locations in 17 Egyptian governorates as part of the development projects being implemented by the UAE government in Egypt, aimed at improving the services provided to people in the country, especially in rural and remote areas, and contributing to enhancing the quality of daily life in vital areas such as energy, food security, infrastructure, education, transport and communication, as well as providing employment opportunities.

The housing project is designed to alleviate the challenges facing Egypt by creating housing complexes for more than 350,000 people with limited income and include basic living facilities such as mosques, shops, child-care centres, and recreational facilities.
