Drug dealer jailed for three years in Qatar


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) A GCC national was sentenced to three years in jail and imposed a fine of QR200,000 by a Doha criminal court for dealing in drugs, local daily Arrayah reported yesterday.

In the same case, another GCC man was fined QR10,000 for drug consumption and possession. Both were arrested while trying to buy and sell hashish. Further, they tried to violently resist the police during arrest.

Upon a thorough search of the vehicles of both convicts, hashish was found in addition to some cash. Blood tests of the accused proved they had consumed drug in considerable quantity, the daily added.
