Tampa FL – May 11 2015 - Jon Berntsen PG an ECS Senior Vice President and Director of Strategic and Business Development will be giving a presentation titled "Assessment and Remediation of Bio-Blend Fuels" at two conferences presented by the National Institute for Storage Tank Management (NISTM).
Jon will be presenting at the 23rd Annual South Florida Storage Tank Conference in West Palm Beach on May 14 2015 and at the 2nd Annual National Underground Storage Tank Conference and Trade Show in Alexandria VA on June 9 2015.
Jon's presentation will focus on the challenges of petroleum contamination assessment and remediation of bio-blended fuels (bio-diesel ethanol E-15 etc.) and additives (diesel exhaust fluid). When released to the subsurface environment these fuel reformulations and additives are changing contaminant plume behavior and providing additional challenges in terms of contaminant removal during remediation. With some of the storage tank system integrity issues that are being observed from the increased use of biofuels and additives and the recent push to increase the ethanol and bio-diesel content in fuel blends more discharges of bio-blended fuels are likely to occur. These discharges are becoming more difficult and costly to assess and remediate.
ECS is proud of our reputation for keeping tank owners in compliance as well as cost-effective remediation of sites to closure. Contact us if we can assist you with your storage tank needs.
