Palestinian Awqaf minister condemns demolition of Islamic site in Nablus

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Sheikh Yousef Adeis condemned the Israeli occupation forces' action of demolishing the Sheik Kamel shrine in Beit Dajan village, east of Nablus city.

The minister said in a press statement on Monday that Israel deals in the same manner with dozens of sites in the West Bank to facilitate settlement expansion and Judaize Palestinian lands. "Israel forges and falsifies history and facts about Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestine and deliberately works to obliterate the Arab and Palestinian identity," he added.

The minister urged the Arab and Islamic worlds as well as international organizations to take action to provide protection for Islamic sites, mainly the Al Aqsa and Ibrahimi mosques.
