Jordan's inflation declines 1 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) Jordan's inflation rate decreased by 1 percent in the first quarter of the year, compared to the corresponding period a year ago, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS), The Jordan Times reported.

The sectors and products which led to the decrease are transportation by 15.7 percent, fuel and energy by 11.7 percent, vegetables by 7.9 percent, meat and poultry by 0.3 percent and beverages by 1 percent.

However, other sectors and merchandise witnessed an increase such as the rental sector by 5.8 percent, fruits and nuts by 9.5 percent and tobacco and cigarettes by 5.2 percent.
