UAE- 14th Arab Media Forum to launch next Tuesday

(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The 14th edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF) will kick off on Tuesday 12th May 2015 at Madinat Jumeira, in Dubai.

The event will be organised under the patronage and presence of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The two-day event, organised by the Dubai Press Club under the theme "New Perspectives", will see more than 2,000 media elites, intellectuals, researchers from more than 27 Arab and foreign countries.

The forum will discuss a range of new trends and their impact on the Arab media landscape as well as ways to develop the media industry in the Arab world. The pros and cons of these new trends will also be discussed objectively, a method adopted by the Organizing Committee as an ideal solution to counter challenges and anticipate future changes.

Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Dr Iyad Madani will be speaking at the official opening of the Arab Media Forum, in a panel discussion entitled "Stereotypes: Islam and Muslims". The panel will be moderated by Sawsan Al Shaer.

The 14th edition of the Arab Media Forum is expected to add yet another milestone to its record of achievements, organizing numerous side activities for the first time and thus presenting, in an innovative and contemporary way, the best practices in the field of media through zooming in on successful experiences of media figures from around the world.

It is noteworthy that the AMF will host, on the evening of the 13th May, the 14th Arab Journalism Award (AJA) to recognise journalistic excellence in Arabic media and reward winners from 5008 participants in this edition.
