(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar University (QU) and Dolphin Energy yesterday signed a sponsorship agreement for events that the College of Engineering (CENG) will organise and host in the academic year 2014-2015.
QU president Prof Sheikha Abdulla al-Misnad and Dolphin Energy Qatar general manager Adel Ahmed Albuainain signed the agreement at an assembly comprising university vice president and chief academic officer Dr Mazen Hasna, CENG dean Dr Rashid Alammari, and CENG and Dolphin Energy officials.
Dolphin Energy will sponsor CENG events such as Life is Engineering, Engineering Week, Computing Contest, Senior Design Contest, Wooden Bridge, Gasna, and Digital Cube, as well as the Gas Processing Centre consortium membership.
Prof al-Misnad said the agreement is QU's commitment to provide the community with outreach activities to enrich students' experience in engineering.
Albuainain said: "Our relationship with QU allows us to engage with young, talented engineers and assist in their development."
Dr Alammari said: "This partnership will add great value to education and outreach at QU, and will contribute significantly to the Qatari society's growth and development."
