(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar University (QU) and Dolphin Energy Limited yesterday signed an agreement with the aim to sponsor the various activities and events that QU College of Engineering (CENG) will organise and host in the academic year 2014-2015.
The agreement was signed between QU President Prof Sheikha Abdulla Al Misnad, and Dolphin Energy General Manager Qatar, Adel Ahmed Albuainain, in front of an audience that comprised QU Vice President and Chief Academic Officer Dr Mazen Hasna, CENG Dean Dr Rashid Alammari, and CENG and Dolphin Energy officials.
In the terms of the agreement, Dolphin Energy Limited will sponsor the events that the College will organise during the academic year 2014-2015, such as Life is Engineering, Engineering Week, Computing Contest, Senior Design Contest, Wooden Bridge, Gasna, and Digital Cube, as well as the Gas Processing Center consortium membership.
Prof Al Misnad said: "Qatar University is pleased to partner with Dolphin Energy in fostering CENG educational and awareness programmes. This agreement comes in line with QU's commitment in providing the community with outreach activities with the aim to enhance and enrich students' experience in the engineering field and provide them with the skills and abilities that enable them join the workforce and become future leaders."
Albuainain said: "We are delighted to extend our relationship with the College of Engineering and look forward to making a contribution to the range of activities and events that are slated to take place in the remainder of this academic year. Qatar University has allowed us to engage with young, talented engineers, assist in their development and in turn support important initiatives designed to meet Qatar's future development goals."
"This agreement comes as a continuation to the series of cooperation with Dolphin Energy towards more collaborations," Dr Al Ammari said.
