Obama meets GCC leaders ahead of Camp David summit


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) U.S. President Barack Obama will meet Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and other Gulf Arab leaders at the White House on Wednesday, prior to their scheduled summit at Camp David, White House Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz announced.

"Obama and King Salman will resume consultations on a wide range of regional and bilateral issues", Schultz said.

Earlier this month, Obama invited leaders of the 6-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to the United States to discuss the framework deal on Iran's nuclear programme that Western countries reached with Tehran on April 2.

The President is expected to receive the six GCC leaders from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates€€ at the White House, before attending the expanded Camp David summit.
